- Solutions Engineer
Description
The Opportunity
We're looking for a Solutions Engineer who will be the bridge between our customers and our technology. You'll work directly with warehouse and distribution center operations teams to understand their challenges, demonstrate how Clustag solves them, and guide them through the process from first conversation to go-live.
You'll take ownership of standard deployments — site surveys, solution design, and the technical and commercial documentation a customer needs to say yes. For complex or custom projects, you'll work hand-in-hand with our Solutions Architect, who is part of your day-to-day support structure, not just a fallback for edge cases. As you grow into the role, your level of independence grows with you.
If you've been doing this for WMS, AS/RS, conveyor systems, or industrial automation — the skill set transfers directly. RFID is the new vertical; the role is the same.
What You Will Do
- Conduct site visits and site surveys to understand customer operations and identify solution fit
- Work closely with the Solutions Architect on complex solution designs and technical documentation
- Deliver product demonstrations and present proposals that translate technical capability into business value
- Build and maintain relationships with warehouse managers, operations directors, and supply chain leaders
- Guide the commercial cycle alongside the customer: discovery, demo, proposal, and follow-up
- Keep project and opportunity status updated in CRM
- Represent Clustag at trade shows and industry events (MHI, MODEX, ProMat, NRF)
- Travel across North America approximately 25% of the time
Requirements
What We Are Looking For
Required
- Experience in a pre-sales, sales engineering, or solutions engineering role for industrial automation, warehouse management systems (WMS), AS/RS, conveyor systems, or material handling equipment
- 2 to 6 years of experience in a client-facing technical role overall
- Solid understanding of warehouse or distribution center operations: inbound/outbound flows, inventory management, picking and packing processes
- Strong communicator who can explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
- English fluency required (written and spoken)
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Based in Miami or willing to relocate
Strong Plus
- Familiarity with WMS, ERP, or warehouse automation platforms
- Spanish fluency — a significant portion of our North American customer base operates in Spanish
- Experience with RFID, barcode, IoT, or any automatic identification technology
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar layout/diagramming tools
- MEDDIC or similar structured sales methodology
Not Required
You don't need to have worked with RFID before. We'll train you on our technology. If you've sold or supported automation, WMS, or AS/RS solutions, you already speak this language — RFID is the easy part. What we can't train is curiosity, customer empathy, and the ability to walk into a warehouse and immediately understand what the operation needs.
